Artur Mas loses president bid in blow to Catalan independence push

CATALAN independence hopes have been hit as leader Artus Mas failed to receive the backing of fellow separatists.

The CDC leader’s bid for re-election as the regional parliament’s president was sunk when he received the backing of just 62 of the 135 delegates.
