HEAT stroke has claimed a young life in Andalucia as Europe continues to be gripped by scorching temperatures.

A 17-year-old boy has died in Cordoba after he went to cool off in a pool to escape the heat.

The teenager was working in a field when he felt dizzy and started to convulse after he left the water.

It comes after two pensioners and a 62-year-old died from similar cold water shock in France.

The young man is the first to die in Andalusia due to the heat wave this year.
