Vandals chuck white paint over municipal vehicle sent to control illegal dumping of waste on Spain’s Costa Blanca

IN a shocking twist of irony, vandals have thrown white paint over a government vehicle sent to control illegal dumping of waste in a Costa Blanca municipality.

The car operated by Denia Town Hall’s department for environment and climate change had its front windscreen completely blinded by paint.

Denia’s councillor responsible for the department, Maite Perez Conejero, denounced the despicable act through social media.

‘UNCIVILISED’: Denia’s councillor for environment said she would not stop the fight against illegal dumping of waste

“We must denounce this unfortunate vandalism against a municipal vehicle.

“The uncivilised persons responsible will not move us away from our goal of making Denia cleaner. We will not stop!”

Commentators likewise denounced the act.

Jose Noguera said: “These useless idiots obviously don’t realise we all pay for this vehicle.”

The vehicle was vandalised close to the Assagador de la Marjal in Denia, where it had been dispatched to investigate illegal dumping.

It is not yet clear who was responsible.
