PREMIER League title-winner Shinji Okazaki has signed for Malaga CF on a one-year deal.
The Japan forward, 33, has already been snapped in full kit for training with the Segunda side.
The former Leicester City star was part of the Premier League-winning Foxes team in 2016.
He has also been capped 119 times by his country and is Japan’s third highest all-time goalscorer with 50.
The pacey striker was officially unveiled at the Costa del Sol club today, with Malaga celebrating him as, ‘the first Japanese player in our history’.
Okazaki said he was ‘really happy’ to be joining the Blues and Whites, adding that he’d had ‘several other offers’.
He said: “There is a lot of potential and I feel very comfortable with the team.”
“I have a passion for football and I am very excited about the project of this club.”
“I don’t know yet the level they have but I am going to work hard and I feel very comfortable.”
The former Liverpool midfielder Dani Pacheco will be among Okazaki’s new teammates.
