Teacher in Spain’s Malaga arrested for allegedly abusing one of his students

POLICE in Malaga have arrested a teacher, accused of sexually abusing one of his underage students. 

The man, who taught at a state school in the municipality of Velez-Malaga, allegedly touched the pupil inappropriately. 

Authorities have not yet revealed the age of the student. 

A spokesperson from the local education authority said that police and judicial authorities had opened an investigation to establish the facts of the case.  

It has begun disciplinary proceedings against the teacher, in coincidence with the investigation, but separate from it.

There’s no indication that the school where the teacher taught knew of the alleged abuse prior to the arrest.  

In accordance with Spanish law, the proceedings are being dealt with in secret.
