EIGHT weeks after the end of the state of alarm in Spain, there are still over 100 municipalities in Andalucia at ‘extreme risk’ for COVID-19.

Specifically, 113 localities in Spain’s most southern region are in the red zone for COVID-19 for exceeding a 14-day cumulative incidence rate of 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, including three provincial capitals – Cordoba, Granada and Jaen and tourist hotspot Marbella.

According to the latest data updated by the Regional Ministry of Health, Granada is the province with the highest number of positive cases, with 34 localities exceeding a 14-day cumulative incidence rate of 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Cordoba with 22, Sevilla with 14, Jaen with 13, Malaga and Cadiz with eight each, Almeria and Huelva with seven each.

The 113 municipalities in Andalucia considered at extreme risk for COVID-19 are as follows:

GRANADA (34): Bubion, Busquistar, Lanjaron, Lentegi, Molvizar, Pampaneira, Torvizcon, Ugijar, Velez de Benaudalla, Alicun de Ortega, Gor, Marchal, Granada capital, Albolote, Armilla, Cacin, Cajar, Cenes de la Vega, Cogollos de la Vega, Dehesas Viejas, Deifontes, Dudar, Las Gabias, Güejar Sierra, Güevejar, Huetor Tajar, Huetor Vega, Nigüelas, Pinos Puente, Pulianas, Salar, Santa Fe, Ventas de Huelma and Villanueva Mesia.

CORDOBA (22): Cordoba capital, Aguilar de la Frontera, Almedinilla, BenamejI, Cabra, Lucena, Luque, Montilla, Monturque, Puente Genil, Santaella, Almodovar del Río, Bujalance, La Carlota, La Carlota, La Carlota, Almedinilla, Santaella, Santaella, Almodóvar del Río, Bujalance, La Carlota, Montoro, Pedro Abad, Peñaflor – which belongs to the province of Seville but is assigned to the Guadalquivir health district of Cordoba -, Espiel, El Guijo, Pedroche, Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo and Villanueva de Cordoba.

SEVILLA (14): Benacazon, Badolatosa, Los Corrales, Fuentes de Andalucia, Herrera, Martin de la Jara, El Rubio, Cantillana, Guillena, Lora del Río, La Puebla de los Infantes, El Ronquillo, Villaverde del Río and El Palmar de Troya.

JAEN (13): Higuera de Calatrava, Lopera, Cabra del Santo Cristo, Espeluy, Huelma, Jaen city, Valdepeñas de Jaen, Bailen, Chiclana de Segura, Jabalquinto, La Iruela, Peal de Becerro and Villarrodrigo.

MALAGA (8): Colmenar, BenahavIs, Marbella, Mijas, Montejaque, Alhaurín de la Torre, Ardales and Carratraca.

CADIZ (8): Tarifa, Conil de la Frontera, San Jose del Valle, Algar, Arcos de la Frontera, Bornos, El Bosque and Prado del Rey.

ALMERIA (7): Armuña de Almanzora, Chercos, Lucar, Olula del Rio, Taberno, Tijola and Balanegra.

HUELVA (7): El Cerro del Andevalo, Bonares, Moguer, San Juan del Puerto, Alosno, Paymogo and Santa Barbara de Casa.
