THE ‘mummified’ body of a woman has been found dumped on the Costa del Sol.

Policia Nacional are racing to identify the victim, who they estimate is between 30 and 40 years old.

The grisly discovery was made in the dried out ‘Pocapringue’ stream near the La Huertecilla industrial estate in Malaga city.

The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, making identification impossible.

The corpse, found at around 10.45am on Tuesday, was found wrapped in a blanket, with the two ends covered by reeds.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation after discovering signs of violence on the body.

It is believed the woman received a blow to the head, however the cause of death is not yet known.
