THE Costa Blanca Tourist Board is wooing more British visitors to the region via a promotional roadshow in the UK.
Wealthy holidaymakers and winter visitors have been targeted coupled with a bid to host a major golf tourist operator event in May 2027.
The roadshow had stops in Crawley, Oxford and Birmingham to strengthen the presence of Alicante province in the British market.

The initiative included meetings with travel agencies and destination presentations in strategic areas connected to the main London airports that operate direct flights with Alicante-Elche.
Costa Blanca Tourist Board head, Jose Mancebo, said: “The United Kingdom continues to be our main source market and British tourists maintain an extraordinary level of loyalty.”
He said the objective now is to diversify to offer something more than just traditional sun and beach holidays.

He also observed an increasing trend in long stays and trips outside the high season.
Forecasts for 2026 in regard to flights show an increase in operations from companies like Ryanair, Jet2, and EasyJet with direct flights to Alicante-Elche from 20 UK airports.
The overall strategy is spread the economic boost of tourism across the whole region to reinforce it as a competitive, sustainable destination with the capacity to attract visitors throughout the year.
The tourist board was also present in Malaga during the fourth annual European convention of IAGTO- a key European golf tourism event which welcomed over 900 delegates.
Mancebo advanced the Costa Blanca’s bid to host the conference in May 2027.
“Golf provides wealth and helps to deseasonalise our tourist offer,” he stated.
He also pointed out that Alicante province had the third highest number of golf courses of any Spanish province.
