THIS is the moment that a man calmly washed blood off his hands after murdering his ex-partner in broad daylight in Catalunya.
The graphic footage shows the alleged killer, Andre Roche Ceron, 48, walking away from the body of the woman that he stabbed in the middle of a park in Figueres, a small town in Girona.
He then cleaned blood off his hands in a nearby public fountain.
A passerby who witnessed the killing shouted: “I don’t know who he is but he’s escaping”.
Then local men and an off-duty police officer confronted Roche and pinned him down. Soon after, he was arrested.
The victim has been named as Kimberli Duran Garcia, 33. She was reportedly given a restraining order that legally ruled Roche Ceron could not go near her the day before her death.
The incident has exposed further issues surrounding domestic violence in Spain.
It comes less than four months after a British mother was murdered by her ex-partner in her Costa del Sol home.
Victoria Hart had a restraining order on Juan Antonio Rueda who killed her in front of their three young children.
Hundreds attended a vigil held at Alhaurin el Grande in Hart’s memory with charity Asociacion Hadas Caradas since having launched The Hart Project with the aim of supporting domestic abuse survivors and educating school students about gender violence.
