ANDALUCIA’s Guardia Civil have helped reel in a pair fishers who got carried away by the current while trying to snag their big catch.
A duo of sailors had to be saved from open sea currents after they plunged in to grab a massive fish they hooked.
The incident took place on Monday in the Marbella area of Placer de las Bovedas.
In a statement from the Guardia Civil, one of the fishermen dived into the ocean without a life jacket to scoop up a fish weighing 8kg that was left adrift.

The fisher attempted to return back to the anchored boat but was taken by a current, making him unable to swim to safety.
His fishing companion then jumped in behind him, trying to save him.
However, the currents dragged him in as well and the two were both stuck without the ability to make it back to their boat.
Eventually the two were spotted in their mid-sea struggle by a ship called Duque de Ahumada.
The Guardia Civil then stepped in to successfully rescue both men, who are said to be in good condition.
