AN elderly British man has been found dead in his Canary Islands home after a neighbour spotted him lying on the bathroom floor, according to Spanish media reports.
Responders raced to the scene in the popular resort of Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, after the passer-by alerted emergency services at around 8am on Monday, Diario de Avisos reported.
Paramedics entered the home alongside Local Police and Guardia Civil officers, but could do nothing to save the vulnerable Brit.
The man, aged in his 70s, is believed to have died after hitting his head in a fall in the bathroom.

Enrique Espinosa, head of the Lanzarote Security and Emergencies Consortium, told Canarian Weekly that the Brit lived alone and had medical problems.
There are currently no details about when the man was last seen or how long he had been inside the property before the neighbours phones emergency services.
Authorities are yet to release the Brit’s name and are not treating the incident as suspicious, according to Canarian Weekly.
Costa Teguise, on Lanzarote’s eastern coast, is a popular base for both holidaymakers and foreign residents, including British nationals.
The resort attracts large numbers of British and Irish visitors each year and has grown well beyond its original holiday complexes, with residential areas and private apartments spread throughout the area.
