BRITS are still fuelling the tourist boom in Ibiza and Formentera, new data shows – but they are spending less and less.
More than 315,000 British holidaymakers flocked to the two Balearic hotspots between January and June, according to the Balearic Islands Statistics Institute (Ibestat).
The figure is up from 311,000 over the same period last year, cementing Brits as the top foreign visitors to the islands.
However, the money they spent during their stay fell from a collective €339 million in 2025 to €335 million this year – a 1.2 per cent decline.
The figures highlight a growing squeeze on British holiday spending, with visitors appearing to be more careful with their cash despite continuing to flock to the islands.
The drop in spending comes as the cost of a holiday in Ibiza remains high, with accommodation, food and drink, and nights out all commanding premium prices.

British visitors were not the only major market to change their spending habits.
The number of German tourists fell from around 118,000 in the first six months of 2025 to just over 105,000 this year.
Their spending also dropped, from €127.4 million to €118.6 million.
Spanish visitors, meanwhile, increased sharply, rising from around 357,000 to more than 382,000.
Their total spending climbed from €243.8 million to €263.3 million.
Overall, tourism spending across Ibiza and Formentera actually increased despite the fall among British and German visitors.
Tourists spent around €1.53 billion on the islands during the first half of 2026, up from approximately €1.41 billion during the same period last year.
