MASKED burglars ambushed a homeowner in his Marbella garden before beating, gagging and tying him up during a terrifying villa raid.

The hooded gang forced their way inside the mansion in the Trapiche area and ransacked it for valuables on September 12, police have now revealed.

The homeowner was in the garden with two young people when the intruders suddenly attacked, Diario SUR reported.

They allegedly beat the man before gagging him and tying his hands, then forced their way into the villa.

The gang made off with a haul of high-value personal belongings, although police have not revealed how much the stolen items were worth.

Emergency services alerted Policia Nacional officers, who searched the surrounding area but failed to track down the attackers.

The injured homeowner later made his own way to a local health centre for treatment.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

The raid is the second violent home invasion reported in Marbella in recent weeks.

In a separate attack in the upmarket Nagüeles area, three intruders targeted a couple in their 70s inside their home.

The gang managed to get inside without forcing the locks before separating the elderly couple and taking them into different rooms.

Both victims were gagged and physically assaulted, while the woman was held at gunpoint as the robbers demanded their valuables.

The attackers eventually made off with a ‘substantial’ haul, police said.

Officers are investigating both incidents, although there is currently no indication the two raids were carried out by the same gang.
