Spanish bird brains

A GROUP of conservationists – joined by Environmental Minister Jose Juan Trillo (far left) – gazed on as six rare Hermit ibises were released in Cadiz.

Sporting helmets decorated with the endangered bird, the crowd watched the birds fly off into the Sierra de Retin, near Barbate.

Since the project ‘Hermit’ was instigated in Andalucia, some 215 have been freed into the natural environment.
