Cutting out the middle man

LANDLORDS will now be able to evict non-paying tenants in just 10 days.

After a change in the eviction process, landlords will no longer have to take the case to a judge, a process which often took many months.

They will now be able to get tenants out 10 days after giving an official written warning.

The government hopes the new system will boost the rental sector, while groups working to prevent evictions have slammed the move as ‘shameful.’

  1. A step in the right direction. I presume a BURO FAX notice is “Official” enough to evict. A practical point is WHO enforces the eviction in timely fashion if renter says they WON’T leave immediately.
