A 24-year-old man has been arrested in Almeria for beating his neighbour’s dog to death.
The Spanish man first set his German Shepherd on the elderly woman’s dog, before kicking it to death himself.
Tragically, she had adopted the dog from her grand-daughter who died earlier this year in a car crash.
Vet Juan Manuel Taboada said: “I have never since such a bloody, merciless killing of an animal.”

I couldn’t agree more. In cases like this, it’s a pity that modern justice in the so called civilized world, doesn’t permit like for like punishment.
Nasty piece of work who should definitely go to prison. If he is capable of a violent crime like this, he is likely to commit another violent offence – this incident is unlikely to be a one-off.
Teresa Keegan – don’t make I insulting ridiculous generalisations about Spanish dog owners. I know many and they all treat their dogs well.
