AFTER picking up an old acoustic guitar for a fiver at a council tip, Brit Shaun Newman thought he had himself a bargain.

But after further examination Shaun, from Devon, UK, realised he had discovered a gold mine.

His £5 (€6.80) guitar actually turned out to be a 100-year-old masterpiece created by legendary Spanish luthier Salvador Ibanez.

Ibanez is widely regarded as the best guitar-maker Spain has ever seen, and Shaun’s tip find is now valued a tidy £4,000 (€5,440).
