AN Irish fugitive connected to the dangerous Kinahan cartel has been spotted on the Costa del Sol.

Gang henchman Francis Delaney has been seen in Fuengirola this summer, the Olive Press can reveal.

On the run for eight years, Delaney, 44, faces charges in Ireland relating to a โ‚ฌ10 million cannabis bust in 2008.

Sources told the Olive Press that Delaney, who jumped bail, has been living on the coast for โ€˜at leastโ€™ a year.

โ€œHe was definitely living in the La Cala area last year,โ€ the source said. โ€œHe is not flash, but at the same time he doesnโ€™t come across as someone on the run.

โ€œLast time I saw him was in Fuengirola about a month ago.โ€

A close associate of armed robber and drug dealer Sean Dean, Delaney has also been connected to the Kinahan clan, based in Estepona, for around a decade.

Delaneyโ€™s arrest came as part of Operation Shovel, which saw gang leader Christy Kinahan jailed for for three years.

A trio of Delaneyโ€™s close associates also received lengthy jail sentences of between seven and nine years after the 2008 bust.

Among them was former Leeds United goalkeeper Eddie van Boxtel, who once saved a penalty against Eric Cantona.
