The exhibition features seven never-before-seen works by Picasso as well as an original recording from Miro dedicated to Picasso.

“[The exhibition highlights] the manifestations of mutual respect and admiration,” said museum director Santiago Mayol.

“The gifts of pictures, photographs and letters record a friendship that helped them from an artistic point of view.”

The 70-strong collection includes 30 pieces by Picasso and 22 from Miro.

This month marks the 80th anniversary of the Paris International Exhibition, when Miro unveiled The Reaper and Picasso Guernica.
