Shock as resident finds dead boar while walking along the beach in Almunecar

A DEAD boar has been found on the beach of Velilla.

It was found in the early hours of the morning by a resident walking along the beach, near Almunecar.

They quickly alerted the Guardia Civil and local police who sent a cleaner to retrieve the boar.

It is unknown how the animal got onto the beach but it is thought it drowned and drifted onto the beach from somewhere nearby.

Local residents said the animals need to be contained ‘because of the impact they leave on agricultural areas and urbanisations in the outskirts,’ said one farmer.
