Dozens of firefighters called to forest fire in Benahavis this morning

A FOREST fire has burnt through efforts to preserve the land as dozens of firefighters are called to the scene.

Some 85 firefighters, two environmental agents, meteorology technicians were called to the Finca la Resinera forest just after 7:45 am in Benahavis.

The emergency services had to fire under control by 1 pm and two hydroplanes were on standby in the area, which is known for its pine trees and was currently being felled for winter.
