A BODY has been found in the search for a missing British expat Amy Gerard.

The 23-year-old vanished outside a popular bar in Tenerife in the early hours of Friday morning.

The body was found floating off the coast of Puerto de la Cruz.

Sources have told Sky News that the body was badly deteriorated and it was ‘difficult to identify whether it was male or female as it had been impacted by smashing against rocks in the water’.

Police believe the body is that of Amy, who moved to the island from Cleethorpes in 2016, however a formal identification is yet to take place.

Her family have been flown out to the island.

More to follow.
