REGIONS across Spain have been placed on yellow alert for snow this weekend as a cold front continues to sweep across the country.

Granada has already seen snowfall and is on alert today and tomorrow.

It’s good news for Sierra Nevada, where lucky skiers will have layers of fresh snow to enjoy.

Jaen is also on alert for snow, with its yellow warning lasting until at least Sunday.

On a national level, Cuenca, Soria, Guadalajara, Madrid, Segovia, Avila, Caceres, Salamanca, La Rioja, Burgos, Lleida, Castilla y Leon and parts of Galicia are all also on yellow warnings for snow.

It comes after a warmer than average winter and spring which saw record temperatures for February.
