Costa del Sol forest fire under control after 29 firefighters and two planes mobilised to tackle blaze

A FOREST fire on the Costa del Sol has been brought under control.

A total of 29 forest firefighters were sent to tackle the blaze in Mijas, which was declared at 12:30pm today.

The fire, in the Entrerrios area was brought under control at around 2pm, and has been prevented from spreading further.

The site is still being monitored by 20 firefighters, three environmental officers and two technicians.

At least one fire engine, a pumping system and two planes were involved in tackling the incident.

It comes after a Brit was arrested last week following his admission of starting a forest fire in Nerja.
