BRITISH ambassador Simon Manley has released a video update for UK nationals residing in Spain as a no-deal Brexit looms ever closer.

The outgoing civil servant shared the clip following the confirmation of Boris Johnson as prime minister last week.

Manley warned expats that they must ensure they are ‘properly registered’ before the expected EU departure date on October 31.

He also said Spain’s Royal Decree, passed back in March, will safeguard the rights of residents in the country, even in the event of a no deal.

The ambassador will be holding a live Q&A session tomorrow for Brits living in Spain who are concerned or still need questions answering.

The British Embassy explained: “On July 30 at 4pm we will be holding our third Facebook Live session with HMA Simon Manley and Regional Consular Policy Advisor Lorna Geddie.

“We know there are still many outstanding questions about what Brexit means for you as UK nationals living in Spain.

“And whilst we can’t promise to have all the answers, we can promise to give you up-to-date, accurate advice and information.

“You can send questions by direct message, or tune in live and submit questions directly to the team.

“And don’t worry if you can’t make it as you’ll be able to watch the recording afterwards. We look forward to hearing from you.”
