Yellow and orange warnings issued for searing heat as temperatures hit 41°C in southern Spain

SEARING: Yellow warnings have been issued by AEMET in Malaga and Granada, while Murcia is on orange alert

TEMPERATURES in southern Spain will soar to over 40°C tomorrow, AEMET has said.

Yellow heat warnings – meaning risk – have been issued in parts of Malaga and Granada today and remain in place until Thursday.

Spain’s weather agency predicts highs of 39°C for Granada over the next 48 hours , while the Axarquia and Guadalhorce in Malaga will rise to 38°C.

Meanwhile, orange heat warnings – meaning important risk – are in place for neighbouring Murcia tomorrow.

Temperatures there are expected to exceed 41°C on Wednesday, including in Altiplano, Noroeste, Valle del Guadalentin, Lorca and Aguilas, Vega del Segura.
