THIS is the horrific moment a street seller stabbed a police officer on a beach in Andalucia.

Tourists can be heard screaming as the cop is wounded multiple times, with the man pinning him down on the sand.

The wounded agent is Police Chief Antonio Garrido of the Policia Local.

He was among four officers confiscating ‘illegal’ goods, which the seller and his pals hawked on the beach of Punta Umbria, Huelva.

KNIFED: The attacker was arrested following the incident, which took place after he and two other men were selling ‘illegal’ merchandise on the beach

Once stopped by police, the vendor brandished a flick knife and tackled Garrido, before wounding him three times in the abdomen.

Other officers and a holidaymaker then pounced on the man, before he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Two other men were also held on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and all three remain in custody.

The wounds narrowly missed Garrido’s vital organs and the police chief is now believed to be stable following hospital treatment.

Mayor of Punta Umbria, Aurora Aguedo said police had her ‘total support’ and called for the ‘full weight of the law’ to be used against those selling illegal items.
