WATCH: Man tries to steal cow from Ale-Hop in Mallorca before detained by National Police

NATIONAL Police have arrested a man for attempting to steal the life-size replica cow from an Ale-Hop in Mallorca.

A video shows the man walking off with the cow before a security chases him out.

CCTV from the store captures the same man two days before the attempted theft releasing the safety ties of the bovine.

The attempted robbery occurred at dawn on August 12, according to the Upper Balearic Police Headquarters in a statement.

The cow is valued at about €3,000 and is the mascot of the Ale-Hop franchise establishments, which specialise in the sale of clothing, accessories and gift items.

National Police agents recognised the man in the video, as he is well known by the local police units for a string of robberies with force, thefts, damages and threats.

Agents located the alleged perpetrator, who was arrested for theft.
