Woman stopped by police after riding electric scooter on motorway in Spain

A WOMAN has been stopped by police after riding on a motorway with an electric scooter. 

Police in Galicia were alerted to a woman driving down the A-P9 road on the scooter at around 9:45am on Sunday.

The 36-year-old was soon approached by two members of the Guardia Civil and stopped.

The woman, who lives in the nearby city of Pontevedra, was given a fine. 

It is not the first time a person has been spotted riding a scooter on a highway in Spain.

In March, a video went viral of a lady with headphones on riding an electric scooter on a Valencian motorway.
