THIS is the moment a car almost exploded after erupting into flames on the Costa del Sol yesterday.

The footage, shot by Carlos Salvador, was recorded outside the El Corte Inglés in Malaga.

The clip shows policemen diverting traffic as the vehicle bellows smoke and huge flames.

A fire truck quickly pulls up and extinguishes the inferno just as it starts to spit and crackle.

Onlookers can be seen recording the event as Carlos describes the scene as ‘like something from a film.’

Carlos’ mum Natalia, who sent us the clip, said her son was enjoying a cup of coffee when a car suddenly began emitting large amounts of smoke from its bonnet.

Two people quickly got out and escaped to safety before the flames took hold.
