Two more refugee boats intercepted off Costa Blanca as migration continues through pandemic

MIGRANTS continue in their attempts to land on the Spanish mainland, with two more boats intercepted yesterday, September 23.

Torrevieja Maritime Rescue rescued the groups of Algerians in waters off the city’s coast.

Some 12 men were aboard one vessel, who were transferred to the Port of Alicante.

Once safely landed, the COVID-19 protocol was activated to test them in accordance with health authority guidelines.

Another boat was captured at Punta Prima on Orihuela Costa with seven onboard, including a child.
