Tragedy as Marbella local, 25, is killed in motorcycle crash just days after returning from abroad

A YOUNG Marbella local has tragically died in a motorcycle crash just days after returning home to Spain from working abroad.

The 25-year-old victim was killed after his bike collided with a 4×4 on the town’s famous Golden Mile late on the night of April 12, according to Malaga daily SUR.

Tragically, it has been reported that the motorcyclist had only been back in his hometown for a few days following a long stint working overseas.

Police have since arrested the driver of the larger vehicle on suspicion of manslaughter.

The fatal accident occurred shortly after 10pm on the Avenida Bulevar Principe Alfonso de Hohenlohe, outside the luxury Marbella Club Hotel.

Horrified witnesses immediately dialled the 112 emergency hotline, prompting a rapid response from local police and paramedics.

Medics were able to resuscitate the man in the back of the ambulance as he was rushed to the nearby Costa del Sol Hospital.

However, due to the extreme severity of his trauma, doctors ordered an urgent transfer to the Regional University Hospital in Malaga capital.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the young man passed away in the early hours of the morning.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the crash as the arrested driver awaits further questioning.
