Jet2 bans British couple for ‘trying to join mile high club’ on flight to Spain – while the plane was still on the tarmac

A PAIR of Brits in their 50s have been banned from an airline for life after attempting to join the ‘mile high club’ while their plane heading to the Canary Islands was still on the tarmac.

The couple were on a Jet2 plane that was set to fly from the East Midlands Airport to Gran Canaria last Thursday.

During take-off passengers noticed the pair’s behaviour and began complaining to staff who considered turning back to the British airport but proceeded to the Canary Islands.

“It was incredibly blatant, there was a lot of vigorous movement going on his jogging bottoms,” a passenger told The Sun.

“My wife and I were shocked and disgusted. We told a crew member and they came to speak to the couple. But, when confronted, the couple claimed they were praying because it was their first time on a plane.”

Once they arrived at their destination, the couple were removed from their hotel, as it was linked to Jet2, and told that they could no longer take a return flight with the airline.

The airline has now banned them for life after stating that it takes a ‘zero-tolerance approach to appalling behaviour such as this’.

In their statement, Jet2 said: “We can confirm that two passengers have been banned for life, following their behaviour on flight LS669 from East Midlands to Gran Canaria on Thursday 16th April. As a family friendly airline and holiday company, we take a zero-tolerance approach to appalling behaviour such as this.”
