A ROBBERY took place in broad daylight in the heart of Sevilla’s historic centre near San Lorenzo Square on Eslava Street.

A family of Ukrainian tourists had just stepped out of their tourist accommodation with their bags when the incident unfolded.

Witnesses say that a band of suspects pulled up in a white Dacia Sandero, jumped out and rushed straight at the group.

The masked men grabbed suitcases within seconds before running back to the car and speeding off.

People nearby described panic and shouting as the situation escalated in the busy street.

Several eyewitnesses claim one of the attackers even tried to grab a child from the family, although this has not been officially confirmed by Policia Nacional.

One witness said the men ‘went straight for the child’, adding the attempt failed when the mother stepped in and stopped them.

Locals rushed to help after hearing screams, but the gang had already fled the scene.

Some believe the family may have been deliberately targeted after being seen with luggage outside their accommodation.

Policia Nacional confirmed the victims were a tourist family from Ukrain and said no injuries were reported.

However, the attackers managed to escape with personal belongings, including luggage and documents such as passports.

Policia have opened an investigation to identify the four suspects and clarify exactly how the event happened.

The case will be handled by the central district station following a complaint from the victims.

No arrests have been made so far as officers continue gathering evidence and reviewing any footage.
