AN AMERICAN man wanted over the 1983 murder of his Chicago roommate, has been arrested in Spain.
The Policia Nacional executed an International Arrest Warrant to detain the suspect in Cartagena.
The unnamed fugitive was said to be living a ‘normal life’ with his family in the Murcia region coastal city.

The Policia Nacional tried to find him after getting information that he might be in the Murcia region.
U.S, authorities said they wanted him arrested for committing homicide with a fire arm.
Acting on the details received, the Policia Nacional launched a serach lasting a few weeks.
Probes into possible addresses and places of work finally confirmed his address in Cartagena, where he lived with his wife and three children.
After allegedly committing the 1983 shooting inside a flat, he fled the United States and managed to remain hidden for years.
The FBI did locate him back in the country in 1996 where he lived in Pennsylvania under a false identity.
He then disappeared after failing to respond to a court warrant, and his whereabouts became a mystery for the last 30 years.
As is the regular procedure in such matters, the National Court in Madrid will now process the U.S. extradition request for the man.
