TWO of France and Canada’s most wanted fugitives have been arrested in Marbella and Sevilla after years on the run.
The pair, identified as All Boivin and Dominique Delattre, were tracked down in separate police operations conducted by French, Canadian and international authorities.
Boivin, 36, had been one of Canada’s most wanted men since 2023, according to the Bolo Program, a Canadian wanted persons alert system.
He now faces a possible life sentence on charges of drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal organisation, authorities say.
The kingpin had been hunkering down in a luxury home in Marbella, reportedly taking multiple measures to avoid being identified – including removing recognisable tattoos and barely leaving the property.
After 10 months of closely co-ordinated international cooperation, agents were able to locate his address and set up surveillance of the surrounding area.
He was finally arrested when he briefly left the house and agents swooped as he was getting into his car.
The second fugitive, 64-year-old French national Delattre, had been on the run for nearly three decades following an armed robbery on a cash transport van in October 1997.
After he was first arrested, Delattre escaped from Nimes Prison (Southern France) in 2000, and had been on the lam since.
Efforts to trace him intensified in 2023, when France’s Fugitive Active Search Team (FAST), working with several European Investigation Orders, renewed efforts to locate and arrest one of France’s most wanted fugitives.
Following a three-year investigation, French authorities were able to confirm Delattre’s whereabouts after tracing a phone line linked to one of his relatives.
Delattre had been hiding in the Sevillian town of Arahal, where he was finally arrested on the 24th of June as he left his home.
The arrests mark the culmination of years of painstaking efforts to track down both fugitives, authorities said.
