Living in Spain? How to make your finances work under Spanish rules

Spain extends pensionable retirement age

BRITS who have made Spain their home are being invited to a free financial planning seminar in Marbella offering practical advice on tax, pensions, investments and inheritance.

The event, organised by Blevins Franks, will look at some of the financial questions that can catch expats out after moving to Spain.

Living abroad can bring major changes to the way savings, investments, pensions and estates are taxed, meaning financial arrangements that worked well in the UK may no longer be the most suitable once you become resident in Spain.

The seminar will explain how residents can structure their finances more tax efficiently while staying within Spanish rules.

Experts will also look at Andalucia’s favourable succession tax regime and how careful estate planning can help families make the most of the available allowances.

Among the topics covered will be:

  • How to structure savings, investments and pensions tax efficiently in Spain
  • How Andalucia’s succession tax rules may benefit residents
  • Practical steps to protect wealth and improve long-term financial security
  • Common cross-border financial issues facing British expatriates

Blevins Franks has been advising British expatriates across Europe for 50 years, specialising in cross-border wealth management, retirement planning, taxation and estate planning.

Its advisers combine international financial expertise with detailed knowledge of the Spanish tax system and the practical challenges that come with relocating abroad.

The firm says its aim is to help clients bring their finances into line with their new life in Spain while avoiding costly mistakes and identifying planning opportunities they may otherwise overlook.

The Marbella seminar is designed to be informative and approachable, giving attendees the chance to hear directly from local advisers and ask questions about their own financial circumstances.
