A BRITISH holidaymaker has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 21-year-old Czech tourist was stabbed outside a nightclub in Magaluf.
According to reports, the alleged attacker and victim had an argument inside a nightclub venue on Avenida Pere Vaquer Ramis in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The pair were then kicked out of the club by bouncers before continuing their scuffle on the street.
Witnesses say the 43-year-old British man then produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest, causing a serious wound that left him bleeding heavily in the street.
Patrols from Calvia’s Polica Local and Guardia Civil quickly attended the scene, alongside two ambulance crews who stabilised the victim before rushing him to Son Espapes Hospital in a serious condition.
The attacker fled the scene but was quickly identified by police, with the entire incident captured on multiple nearby security cameras.
He was arrested on Saturday afternoon after an officer recognised the suspect in a nearby car park.
The Guardia Civil’s Judicial Police in Calvia have taken charge of the investigation.
In late August, seven British tourists were arrested in Magaluf after a mass brawl outside a nightclub which saw several police officers attacked.
The male Brits, aged between 22 and 28, were detained on suspicion of public order offences, resisting police officers and causing injury.
