POLICE investigating the killing of a renowned Marbella cosmetic surgeon shot dead in his own clinic are examining whether the apparent hit was ordered by the family of a patient who died following a procedure.

German-born Dr Alexander Aslani was gunned down at his Cirumed clinic on Wednesday evening, with an 18-year-old Swedish man linked to the notorious Shottaz criminal gang arrested on suspicion of carrying out the killing.

Investigators believe the teenage suspect, who has been remanded in jail without bail, may have acted on commission from a disgruntled female customer, or someone in her close circle.

According to El Mundo and El Debate, detectives are now examining the family of a Colombian patient who died after undergoing cosmetic surgery at Aslani’s clinic.

Relatives were reportedly furious with the explanations given by the medical centre and allegedly held Aslani directly responsible for her death.

Investigators are exploring whether their anger could have provided a motive for revenge, although there is no evidence publicly establishing a link between the family and the murder.

A separate dispute involving a Saudi woman who underwent a Brazilian butt lift is also being examined.

She was reportedly dissatisfied with the result and sought a refund of around £17,000, which she did not receive.

According to Okdiario, the woman has fled the country with her wealthy partner, who allegedly sent intimidating messages and visited the clinic to ‘issue warnings to staff’.

It remains unclear whether either dispute is connected to the killing.

However, a new report has revealed that Aslani went to police in April after receiving direct threats linked to his professional work.

According to Diario Sur, the surgeon filed a formal complaint just months before his death, adding another significant lead for investigators probing whether the killing was commissioned by someone with a grievance against him.

The latest revelation comes after the Olive Press revealed that Aslani had not been licenced to practice medicine in the UK since 2016.

The 57-year-old had been subject to extensive working restrictions after a scathing performance review in 2012 identified ‘deficiencies’ in six areas of his practice, including record-keeping, prescribing, patient assessment, patient consent, ‘working within limits’ and post-operative care.

The General Medical Council (GMC) also imposed 14 other restrictions on him before the doctor relinquished his licence four years later.

Dr Aslani was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his head shortly after 6pm on Wednesday after a masked gunman entered the clinic and opened fire.

According to reports, the suspected hitman fled the scene on a motorcycle after the shooting, with investigators believing he may have received help from an accomplice providing transport, accommodation and crucial information about Aslani’s movements.

The 18-year-old Swedish suspect, reportedly of sub-Saharan African origin, was arrested in Benalmadena on Thursday less than 24 hours after the killing.

He is alleged to have links to the Stockholm-based Shottaz criminal gang.

The youngster has been remanded in custody without bail.

However, he has repeatedly denied being the person who fired the fatal shots.
