LEAVING Spain ten years ago is a big regret for the long-serving boss of Marks and Spencer.

Chief executive Sir Stuart Rose sold all stores on the Spanish mainland for 150 million euros in 2001 but admits he made an error.

Sir Stuart closed all outlets in seven European countries for what he called internal “political not commercial” reasons.

But the British retailer opened its first Spanish store in eight years at the La Canada shopping centre in Marbella last year.

And it has also expanded its international delivery services allowing expats to order products online.
