AN 85-year-old dementia-sufferer has been rescued after going missing for two days on the Costa Blanca.

The lady, of German nationality, was reported missing by her sister after she did not return from an evening walk on May 23.

She was found collapsed in an irrigation ditch following a search party involving Guardia Civil from Calp, Benissa Javea and El Verger, as well as a sniffer dog and helicopter.

The helicopter spotted her at 8:30 following a night of rain and low temperatures in a state of hypothermia and very disorientated.

She was taken to Denia hospital for treatment.
