RISING: Latest figures from Andalucia show Malaga is the leader in terms of new coronavirus cases

A total of 750 people are now in hospital with the disease in the region, with 52 being added in the past 24 hours (257 in the past week).

Of the 750, a total of 117 are in intensive care, with seven being added since yesterday.

The figures on hospitalisation have come from a graph released by the Junta which shows the evolution of the virus in hospitals.

The number of people in intensive care has increased by 45 in the past seven days.

However the figures are still a far cry from the data seen at the height of the pandemic.

On March 30, the southernmost region had 2,708 hospitalisations and 438 patients in intensive care.
