A towering performance on the Costa del Sol

HE is the UK’s biggest selling jazz artist of all time with a Grammy, two Golden Globes and several Brit Award nominations under his belt.

So it was a joy to see English singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist Jamie Cullum treating his fans to a rare concert on the Costa del Sol.

The star – who has sold over five million albums – gave an energetic and exciting performance at the historic Sohail Castle in Fuengirola.

Showcasing his eclectic tastes the crowd enjoyed a mix of songs from all of his albums plus covers ranging from Rhianna’s Don’t Stop the Music to What a Difference a Day Made.

The magical setting added to the evening as Cullum delivered constant surprises even singing his final song of the evening without the aid of either his (very talented) band or a microphone.

Despite the sizeable crowd you could have heard a pin drop as the audience held their breath in silence, listening to a note perfect version of his song Gran Torino, from the famous Clint Eastwood film.

As he finished, the crowd erupted into applause; a great way to end a night that the very charismatic Cullum evidently enjoyed as much as the audience.

  1. He has written a few new songs recently which he has been playing at his live shows. One of which wasn’t even fully written but it sounded amazing.

New album is coming out next year :) So not too long to wait!
