Kalan Fletcher hit and run tragedy

By Wendy Williams

A LONG-TIME British expat has been killed in a tragic hit and run accident just months after returning to Britain.

Chef Kalan Fletcher, 23, who lived for years in Sabanillas, was knocked down in West Sussex as he was walking home after a night out with friends.

Police are now hunting for suspected illegal immigrant Imran Shaukat, 26, after detectives discovered his Ford Transit van, believed to have been involved in the incident.

A Facebook page has also been set up with a photo of Shaukat appealing for information.

Joanne Murdoch from Marbella sent out a plea saying: “A friend of ours, Kalan, was left to die in the road.

“Below is a picture of the man responsible. Please look out for him whereever you are.

“We can’t let him take away Kalan’s life and walk free.”

Meanwhile Fletcher’s friends in Sabinillas are organizing a memorial for him.

“This was very much his home,” explained friend Joe Slaughter, 23, who met Fletcher eight years ago in Duquesa.
