Arriate teen murderer released before sentence

A YOUTH accused of murdering teenager Maria Esther Jimenez Villegas, 13, has been released from prison prior to sentencing.

His release to a ‘supervised apartment’ came just two days into the five-day trial of the 17-year-old, known as El Vaca.

The move was made as minors can only legally be held for a set period of time.

While he has maintained his innocence of the murder in Arriate, numerous bits of DNA evidence and witness statements look set to see him convicted.
