A DILAPIDATED coastal footpath could be reopened after nine years.
The Paseo de los Carabineros, in Nerja, was closed in 2003 due to rock falls – but this does not stop hundreds of holidaymakers each year ignoring the danger warnings and using it anyway.
Now a team of specialists from Madrid is to visit the spot, in the hope that some sections are deemed safe enough to reopen.
Nerja Town Hall insists it is doing everything it can to enable this ‘beautiful path’ to be opened safely as soon as possible.
