New Spanish wind turbine sets production record

A RECENTLY installed offshore wind turbine has set a Spanish record for production during a 24-hour period.

The machine, which has been off Gran Canaria since July, produced 118.05MWh of output in one day, surpassing the previous record of 107.82MWh.

It has generated more than 2GWh of electricity for the local grid since it started.
