Cilla Black’s Costa del Sol villa damaged by fire

BRITISH TV host Cilla Black’s Costa del Sol villa has been damaged by fire.

The 71-year-old was in the UK when her Estepona home was engulfed in flames earlier this month.

“All the hedges have gone at the front of the house. A Good Samaritan – a neighbour opposite – saw the flames at three o’clock in the morning,” she told the Daily Mirror.

“I have management over there and a gardener, but I could’ve been in the house when it happened. It frightens me.”

The Blind Date star usually flies to her luxury holiday home every August, but is visiting early this year in order to oversee repair work.

Cilla has admitted she is nervous about staying in the villa on her own, since her husband Bobby died in 1999.

“I’ve got to go to Spain, it’s got to be done, to get over being frightened, the longer I leave it , the worse it’s going to be,” she said.

“What frightens me most is being on my own – I don’t stay there on my own.

“I usually don’t go there until August but I’m going early this time,” added Cilla – who also owns homes in London, Buckinghamshire and Barbados.

  1. Tony, as far as I am aware, comments on this site are not restricted to those which are positive, or are you the self appointed moderator here? If she’s not going for a rest, then it would be interesting to hear from you, her reason, as I dont think people usually go there to work.

  2. Paladin’s got a point, I mean she can live anywhere in the world in absolute luxury and she doesn’t really need to be in Spain to oversee anything with the management she has, especially in this world of real time video. Barbados is dangerous too of course, it has a terrible hurricane cycle for starters. In any event, I’m sure she’ll get a lorra lorra euros if she sold up in Estepona. Estepona or Barbados? Hmm, difficult choice lol.

  3. I feel so sorry for Cilla I know what its like to be terrified in your own home, I still have not been back to Malaga since the doors were smashed in and all my furniture taken, if anyone is interested in buying the place let me know!.

  4. MONEY CAN BUY ANY THINGS BUT PEACE OF MIND OR ETERNAL LIFE. A smaller place, less conspicuous of wealth could be safer, less attractive to thieves. Artists and other famous and rich often have to depend on someone’s constant presence, especially a woman. That’s the price of fame and fortune; nothing is ever perfect. She had a good life because she cared about others, not self centered. That made her life rich, not her millions.
