Police bust 24 in Campo de Gibraltar tobacco raid

AT least 24 people were arrested yesterday in a tobacco contraband raid along the Campo de Gibraltar.

Sources report that a total of 124 cartons of contraband tobacco were seized as well as at least one firearm.

The main locations of the bust – which involved the dispatch of a police helicopter – were La Linea and San Roque.

The operation unfolded early yesterday morning and the alert was rapidly raised among La Linea residents.

Further arrests are predicted as the operation continues.
