Gibraltar GCSE pass rate better than last year

Gibraltar’s GCSE pass rates are back on track after a disappointing dip in 2014.

And the best results obtained in Spanish, Dance and Geography.

While GCSE scores fell 5% between 2013 and 2014, they were back up this year with Westside girls obtaining a 70% A*-C rate and Bayside boys’ results increasing from 58% to 62%.

Spanish, one of the most popular subjects taken overall, saw an 87% A*-C pass rate.

Westside excelled at Dance, with an 100% pass rate, and Geography at 92%.

Other good results were ween at Bayside where 86% passed with A*-C in English Literature, and 79% excelled to the same level at Art and Design.
